About Phoenix

Phoenix’s Story

FDAS Phoenix headshot

We love the intelligence and beauty of the Friesian and Appaloosa breeds. FDAS Phoenix was born 7/25/2013 and is the last foal of Brody & Mandy — the pinnacle of our dreams. He stands 16.2 hh.

He spent early training with Karla Ribordy, then Nikola Alfred of Maelstrom Farm, plus one local cowboy — many relationships to say the least. We began the Warwick Schiller Attuned Horsemanship Series in March 2024, and he is now training in basic dressage under Kayla Johnson.

Our Breeding Program

FDAS breeding program

We took great care in curating our breeding program. Size, conformation, and color-pattern genetics were the foundation for selecting our mare, Kiss My Bartender, while athleticism and height were determining factors in selecting Murk Fan De Sanbourren (“Brody”), our Friesian stallion.

Together this pair gave us 7 beautiful foals. Our Leopard Friesians were raised on the property and naturally socialized as a herd.
